When I retired in December of 2007, my husband and I flew to San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico, to spend 18 days in warm, sunny weather!! We spent Christmas and New Years at Royal Solaris Resort, then flew home on January 3, 2008. Before leaving for Mexico, I was trying to find work job on the internet to do at home. Didn't have time to really search it out before I left, but planned on pursuing that goal when I returned home. Once home, I spent hours looking for that data entry/word processing job I could do at home from the computer. Most of them turned out to be scams. How disappointing. I tried to get rehired for part time work with BAE SYSTEMS, (where I had just retired from), however, they were only hiring for full time. Bummer. That plan went down the tubes. Then I signed up for filling out surveys on the internet to earn money. That isn't going so well either. Hmmm. It will all work out.
I have been going through items on the boat and in storage, to see what to keep, what to give to family, and what to get rid of . For some items it's a no brainer, but other items it is a little more difficult. Progress has been made but a lot more needs to be done. Little by little.
Went to the Seattle Boat Show last week and bought a Sea Anchor, (helps in heavy weather), and a watermaker. We still need an air conditioner. That will be our next major purchase. The boat is wired for both the watermaker and air conditioner. March we will haul the boat out of the water and have them put in. I finally broke down and bought a Vacuum Food Saver. Now I can vacuum pack whatever I want, keeping food fresh and other stuff dry.
We sold our hard bottom avon with trailer, and also my classical guitar. I bought a smaller guitar that fits my hands and is easier to hold and play. It stores better on the boat too. Some changes are good.

Hi Guys, glad to hear your heading south. When you get to Mexico, buy some of that sea sickness Medication called Sturgeon, I think that is how you spell it. Ron and I use it and we have never been sea sick. You can only buy it in Canada and Mexico. See yea in Mexico this winter. Take care, Ron and Maryann.
Hi Deb and Dave, glad to hear you made it safe and sound. We decided to stay in beautiful Channel Island Marina as the price was right and we heard that San Diego was just far too busy. Will head out after the Baja HaHa boats have cleared out. Hope we will run into you and have that drink to celebrate a slower pace. Take care , keep safe.
Cheers. BJ and Jim
